In honor of the late Deputy Sheriff Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal, the Sikh Motorcycle Club is pleased to offer five $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing to be first responders. Students applying must be either graduating high school seniors or matriculating undergraduate students residing in the United States. Successful candidates for the scholarship must be bound for a career in either emergency medical service, law enforcement or the fire department.
Students must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and demonstrated the commitment to pursuing a career as a first responder.
Applicants must send the following items together via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 15th, 2020.
1. A completed application (attached below). Save Application and Essay files with your name.
2. Copy of high school transcript for high school seniors, college transcript for current college students, or proof of enrollment in an academy.
3. Resume or CV
4. A high-quality photo of the applicant to be used for future publications of the winners.
5. An essay on the following topics. The essay should be no more than 300 words.
■ How have you prepared yourself and/or plan on preparing yourself to become a first responder?
■ How does selfless service (Seva) connect with your desire to pursue a career as a first responder?
Winners of the scholarship will be announced on December 31st, 2020 with their names and pictures being posted on the Sikh Motorcycle Club website, social media on Facebook and Instagram. Scholarships will be sent directly to the winners.
